Converse Advertisement Analysis
All Star Made By You
This advertisement shows the use of the Converse made shoe named "All Star". The overall design of the shoe have remained unchanged since its first release in the 1920's where it was originally used as basketball shoes, in today's day and age, it is used by all people not limited to basketball, but more of a fashion trend.
Media Language
I think that the advertisement focuses on the types of people that use and buy their products, or, the personality of the brand. Instead of focusing on the cool design that's been around for almost a decade, surely people would get bored seeing it, they focus on building a stronger bond between them and the customers by making the customer the main aspect of the ad.
Representation
During the ad, we are introduced to multiple people wearing the Converse shoe, throughout that, we can see a trend of what personality each person has, and they are pretty similar, most of them are the messy, fun, casual, "YOLO" types of people, and this really represents the customers of converse and what its personality is. Unlike more luxurious products like GUCCI or HUGO BOSS where their whole company is based on looking clean and rich, Converse is more relaxed, free, and casual, which is again, shown by the personality of the people shown in the ad wearing converse shoes.
Audience
The audience of the ad would most likely be the long loyal customers of Converse, or anyone who likes similar shoes like VANS, would surely love the product because of its "skater" vibes which is often associated with the people showed in the ad (messy, fun, free, YOLO).
Industry
The ad was pretty simple with little movement of camera and little to no added CGI effects, it does have cool transitions.
