Star and Celebrity is similar in the way that both types of people are famous and popular, the difference is how popular they are. A Celebrity is a local famous person, someone that is famous in a certain group, an example in this case would be a German football fan recognizing Thomas Muller as famous and popular, but a non football fan would not even know who he is. A Star on the other hand, is someone that is famous worldwide, they would be famous for a certain group but people outside the group would still recognize this person, an example would be Cristiano Ronaldo, anyone would know who Cristiano Ronaldo whether they're a Portuguese fan, a German fan or not a football fan at all.
