COMPONENT 3 - Diary & Plan
WEEKLY PROGRESS
This is our intended plan for the project, and below is my weekly progress:
WEEK 1:
This week, I first decided to group with Dyfan, Sam and Andrew for my group project.
We decided we would be using the 1st option for our topic, which is 'music promotion package'.
We started with our research on music videos on the internet which can be found on my 'Research' blogpost, it features 2 big analysis and 6 smaller ones.
Doing these works mostly in class and organizing at home.
We haven't really decided on our final decision on what we wanted to make for the project, but we have a general idea and some inspiration for it.
WEEK 2:
This week I finished my research blog, I did the 2 big analysis and 6 small analysis
I also posted a blog about media regulation, about OFCOM and made a short case study on "The Boondocks"
On the final day of the week, we made a pre-plan, but still haven't decided anything on the song or the setting.
WEEK 3:
We finished our first to do list. Dyfan and Andrew made a few more than 15 seconds on the storyboard, having a general idea on what the MV would look like.
Me and Sam made a visual board and have the whole idea on the digipak already set.
We made a new to do list, we decided that we want to finish the storyboard, decide actors, shoot a few scenes, finalize digipak concept, start social media, clothing and ask Alex for camera.
WEEK 4:
This week we continued our research we all decided to change our song to Memories by Maroon 5.
Me and Sam did research on the Digipak, artist name, song list and album name.
Meanwhile, Andrew and Dyfan was working on the storyboard for the Music Video.
My next task is social media, which should be easy and simple.
After all 3 are done, we will start to shoot next week, meaning we'll finish all by next week.
WEEK 5:
This week we did some of the shots in school in our music room, though the shots were only a concept shots for the beginning of the scene, we decided to wait for Alex's camera to be fixed so we can borrow it from him.
For digipak, me and Sam made more progress, we know what we want, but we haven't finalized our design, we plan on doing it next week.
Social media will start being made once digipak idea is finalized.
WEEK 6:
This week we are 90% complete with our music video shooting, digipak and social media we presume is going to be the easy part so we did around 30%. Once we finish with editing we will then compile resources to social media and digipak.
Next week we will prioritize on finishing editing and starting on the rest.
This week we finalized everything, and for the upcoming weeks are to execute it.
WEEK 7:
This week we did not do any project lessons. But we did get some footage for our montage during the fieldtrip which occupied our project lesson.
WEEK 8:
This week we made our final digipak cover and insides.
We finished 40% of our editing, me and Sam decided that we will finish the digipak by next week where we will start our social media.
We decided as well that our social media will include merch, digipak, music video posts (at least 1)
WEEK 9:
This week my group have made 100% of the music video including editing, digipak is also 100% done, social media is 50% done, and for the next few days we'll be focusing on this.
Music video editing has been Dyfan, digipak production has been me and Sam, social media has been done by me and Andrew.
I've also tried to clean up my blogpost and compile it with the processes and ideas, it has also been given feedback from my teacher.
I have also done my first draft on my critical self reflection.
